Sturgill Simpson – WHO THE F**K IS JOHNNY BLUE SKIES?

Sturgill Simpson is a genre-defying American singer-songwriter and musician known for blending traditional country with rock, soul, and psychedelia. His breakthrough album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music (2014), earned critical acclaim for its innovative sound and introspective lyrics. Simpson continued to push musical boundaries with A Sailor’s Guide to Earth (2016), which won the Grammy for Best Country Album and earned a nomination for Album of the Year. His later projects, including Sound & Fury (2019), showcased his versatility, incorporating hard rock and synth-heavy influences, while his bluegrass album Cuttin’ Grass (2020) highlighted his deep respect for roots music.

Beyond his solo work, Simpson has acted in film and TV and collaborated with artists across multiple genres. Known for his rebellious spirit and refusal to conform to industry norms, Simpson remains a distinctive voice in contemporary music.
