The BJCC proceeding with $5 million renovation of Sheraton lobby

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is excited to announce the renovation of the Sheraton hotel lobby and public spaces.

The facelift is part of a series of investments in the hotels owned by the BJCC, including community areas and guest rooms. The design will celebrate Birmingham’s steel heritage with rich colors and textures while incorporating elements of Southern hospitality and tailored sophistication.

“We want our guests and customers to experience the very best when they visit our facilities,” said Tad Snider, CEO of the BJCC. “The renovations at the Sheraton are just another way of continuing to elevate the experience for those who stay in the Sheraton and utilize its public spaces.”

As part of the renovation, the entire lower lobby is being renovated and optimized for public use. In addition to a new look that is more open and welcoming, the lobby will include new elements including a café bar known as &More by Sheraton, plus community tables and studios.

The renovations are expected to cost about $5 million and to be complete in December 2024, Snider said.

“We want to not only make a great first impression on people arriving to the Sheraton, but also to offer the kind of amenities that allow them to make the most of their time here,” he said. “We’re continuing to invest to make the entire BJCC campus the best it can be.”
