Broadway Across America – Birmingham is pleased to announce our SPECTACULAR 09-10 season of EXCITING Broadway shows! Our 09-10 season features some of the GREATEST blockbusters and the BEST of Broadway. Oprah Winfrey Presents THE COLOR PURPLE, nominated for 11 Tony@ Awards, and GREASE, starring Birmingham’s own Taylor Hicks will headline the 09-10 season. “We are very appreciative of the support we received last season and we were thrilled to see excited patrons at all of our shows. We continue to be very committed to this market and to presenting quality seasons like this one headlined by THE COLOR PURPLE. The exciting 09-10 season is anchored by THE COLOR PURPLE, the unforgettable and inspiring story of a woman named Celie, who triumphs over tremendous odds to find joy in life, and her true inner beauty. Also in the 09-10 spotlight is GREASE starring American Idol winner and Birmingham’s own Taylor Hicks. Also on this exciting season are family favorites THE WIZARD OF OZ and 101 DALMATIANS. As Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz, “There is no place like home!” Alabama can see the best of Broadway right here in Birmingham.
