BJCC hires Director of Real Estate to expand use of Medical Forum
Date: November 21, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Friday, November 21, 2008 – The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex recently hired Andrea Faush as Director of Real Estate. Faush’s primary focus will be leasing office space in the BJCC Medical Forum, a 10-story office and meetings tower adjacent to the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel.
The Medical Forum features 364,000 square feet of meeting, conference and office space. More than 250,000 square feet is rentable office space available to area companies.
“The community has a perception that since the Medical Forum is adjacent to the hotel and the convention complex that it is not available for office use, and that’s the opposite of the truth,” Faush said. “We have very competitively priced rentable space for companies of just about any size.”
BJCC Executive Director Jack Fields was formerly the Real Estate Director at the BJCC. He has continued to hold the responsibility of leasing the Medical Forum as executive director but said other projects have required his primary attention.
“We felt it was time to reinstate this position to re-energize our Medical Forum leasing,” Fields said. Faush will also assist in the management of BJCC-owned property and the acquisition of property as necessary and appropriate for the expansion of the complex.
Faush previously worked with downtown real estate company Corporate Realty. She has also worked with Bushnell Realty and as Property Manager with EGS and Manager at Hydinger & Stewart Commercial Properties, all based in Birmingham. Faush is a Birmingham native and a graduate of the University of Alabama and UAB. She serves on numerous civic and charitable communities and has two daughters, Brittany (18) and Tyler (15).
